chiraita , Swetia Chirata, chirata Pure Herb 100g

Chiraita Kwath (decoction of Swertia chirata, also called Chirayata or Bitterstick) is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal preparation known for its strong bitter taste and detoxifying properties.
It’s often made by boiling the dried stems and leaves of the plant in water.

Here are the main benefits traditionally associated with Chiraita Kwath:

1. Liver Support & Detoxification

  • Helps protect liver cells and supports recovery from jaundice and hepatitis.

  • Stimulates bile production, improving digestion of fats.

2. Digestive Health

  • Bitter principles (swertiamarin, amarogentin) stimulate digestive enzymes.

  • Useful for indigestion, bloating, and loss of appetite.

  • Traditionally used for clearing intestinal worms.

3. Blood Purification & Skin Health

  • Helps remove toxins from the blood.

  • May reduce skin problems like acne, eczema, and boils.

4. Fever & Malaria Support

  • Traditionally used in intermittent fevers, especially malaria-related fevers, due to its antipyretic properties.

  • Reduces inflammation and body heat.

5. Blood Sugar Regulation

  • Known for mild hypoglycemic effects — may help support healthy blood sugar levels.

6. Immunity & Infections

  • Contains natural antioxidants that support the immune system.

  • Traditionally used in respiratory infections, cough, and colds.

Usage Note:

  • Kwath is usually prepared by boiling about 3–5 g of dried Chiraita in 150 ml water until reduced to half, then straining.

  • Best taken on an empty stomach in the morning or as directed by an Ayurvedic practitioner.

  • Avoid during pregnancy, in very weak patients, or if you have low blood pressure, as it can be very cooling and bitter.
