 Brahmi Ghritam 200g

Brahmi Ghritam is a time-honoured ghee-based Ayurvedic formulation rooted in classical Ayurvedic texts. Prepared with Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) infused in clarified butter (ghrita), it is traditionally used to support the central nervous system, enhance memory, and promote mental clarity. The lipophilic nature of ghee acts as an optimal carrier (anupana), facilitating deeper tissue penetration and enhanced bioavailability of its active compounds.

Key Ingredient

  • Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) — The primary neuroactive herb, standardised for bacosides A and B, which are known to support synaptic communication, acetylcholine synthesis, and neuronal repair.

Clinical Benefits

  • Memory & Cognitive Enhancement — Bacopa monnieri has been shown in multiple randomised controlled trials to significantly improve memory acquisition, retention, and recall. A 12-week double-blind RCT published in Neuropsychopharmacology (Stough et al., 2001) found significant improvements in word recall and speed of information processing.
  • Neuroprotection — Bacosides demonstrate antioxidant activity in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, reducing lipid peroxidation and protecting neurons from oxidative damage (Phytotherapy Research, 2000).
  • Anxiolytic & Stress-Reducing Action — Brahmi modulates the HPA axis and reduces corticosterone levels, supporting a calmer mental state without sedation (Bhattacharya et al., Phytomedicine, 1998).
  • Vata Balancing — In Ayurvedic physiology, Brahmi Ghritam pacifies Vata dosha, which governs the nervous system, helping to reduce anxiety, restlessness, and cognitive fatigue.
  • Anticonvulsant Properties — Preclinical studies have demonstrated Bacopa's role in reducing seizure frequency, supporting its traditional use in conditions like epilepsy (Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2002).
  • Balya (Strength-Provider) — Supports physical and mental stamina by combating general weakness and fatigue through its tonic and adaptogenic properties.
